About this policy
This policy applies to GPlayer for iPhone and iPad, provided by Marksdo. GPlayer does not require a GPlayer account, include advertising, sell personal data, or track you across other apps and websites.
Data on your device
GPlayer stores imported media, thumbnails, metadata, playlists, playback history, subtitles, editing drafts, settings and saved service credentials on your device to provide its features. Playback, editing and transcription with downloaded Whisper or Parakeet models run locally. GPlayer does not automatically upload your library or local diagnostic logs to Marksdo.
Downloads and websites
Downloading media or models connects to Marksdo’s download service, Hugging Face or the source website you select. Requests may use links, login cookies or credentials you provide. These services receive your IP address and request information and may retain server logs under their own privacy policies. Visiting a website also follows that website’s policy.
Subtitle translation
When you choose DeepL or Google translation, the selected text or subtitles and language settings are sent to that provider; DeepL also receives your API key. Apple translation uses Apple’s system service and may download language resources. Downloaded speech models process your audio on this device; downloading a model does not send your media with the request.
Backups and sharing
Backup sends selected media and related metadata to the folder, file provider or SMB server you configure, including private-library content when you include it. Export and Share send the items you select to the destination you choose. Those destinations may be local or remote and apply their own access and retention rules.
Purchases and diagnostics
Apple processes purchases and restores through StoreKit; GPlayer uses verified transaction information to manage access and does not receive your payment card details. Local diagnostic logs can contain file paths, URLs, errors and operation details. Logs are limited in size and can be cleared. Sending feedback or sharing logs is your choice; review their contents before sharing.
Your choices and data deletion
Use system pickers to choose files and manage available Photos and Local Network permissions in iOS Settings. Stop optional network features and remove saved credentials to stop future requests. Delete media and empty Trash, and remove histories, models, cookies or logs in their respective pages. App locking does not encrypt exported or backup copies. Deleting the app removes its local app container, but Keychain records, exported files and system or remote backups may remain. Delete those copies with their provider; data already sent to a third party follows that provider’s retention and deletion process.
Contact and policy updates
For privacy questions or requests, contact Marksdo through GPlayer’s GitHub feedback page. Reports may be public; do not include private media, passwords or API keys. Policy updates are included in app updates and identified by the date above.
