Customize GPlayer to fit your habits
Set up your tabs, player shortcuts, grid, gestures and display preferences, with real examples.

Where to customize
Open Settings → Features → Customization. This is the full configuration page. Grid layout menus contain display controls and Grid Options; supported playlist menus also link to Customization. In the player, open More → Customization: this sheet configures player shortcuts, double taps and shaking, but does not include main tabs. Use the full settings page to change tabs. Some entries are unavailable in restricted access mode.
Choose your bottom tabs
In Customization, open a slot from Tab 1 through Tab 4, then choose its destination. Tab 0 stays the media library. Other slots can open playlists, a built-in collection, Prompts, Download Demos or BGM Library. Choose None to hide a configurable slot. The same destination cannot occupy two main-tab slots: targets already used elsewhere are omitted. Return to the library to check the resulting bar; changes are saved automatically.
Set four player shortcuts
Under Player Quick Buttons, open a button position and select a collection, a custom playlist, the playlist picker or Rotate. Choose None to leave it hidden. These are four quick-action positions, not a freely editable version of every playback control. Duplicate destinations are excluded within this row. Test a button with demo media: playlist actions can change collection membership. Reopen Customization to verify your selection or choose another target.
Show or hide playback tools
Open More → Quick Options in the player. Toggle the tools listed below, then dismiss the menu to see the result. These switches are separate from the four collection buttons. They remember whether a tool should be shown, but a tool can still be unavailable for the current media or access mode. BGM needs standard access; a motion-playback shortcut also needs a usable path. This menu also controls Floating Info. Reopen it to undo a choice.

Change the media grid
Open the grid’s layout menu. Toggle grouped or flat browsing, change the available column layout, show or hide information, and turn Live on or off where offered. Use sorting to select a criterion and direction; playlist views may also offer video/audio and image filters. Options depend on the current view and media type. Layout, information and sorting preferences have view-specific storage; do not assume changing one list changes every list. Live previews can do more work than still covers; turn them off if you prefer a quiet grid.
In a group’s menu, enable Quick Likes to show heart actions on cards. Tap the heart on a media card to add or remove it from Likes. On a group or folder card, tap to like all members; if all are liked, tap to remove them all. This setting is shared by the library, groups and folders.
Media-type filters are session choices; do not rely on them surviving an app restart.
Adjust spacing and navigation
From the layout menu open Grid Options. Drag Spacing from 0 to 8 and Corner Radius from 0 to 20 in steps of 2; the current and default values are shown. The sliders save when dragging ends or the panel closes. These appearance values and automatic hiding of the top navigation and bottom tabs are shared settings. Play Groups Directly opens a group straight into playback; when off, a group opens its contents. Single-video groups still follow the separate Play Single-Video Groups Directly setting in playback settings.

Assign double-tap actions
In Customization, first choose the default double-tap action, then configure the four quarters separately. A quarter can inherit the default, do nothing, target a playlist or perform a playback action. None disables that quarter; inheriting the default is different. Available actions are listed below. Open a video and try the chosen quarter; the settings diagram explains the areas and is not an overlay permanently drawn on playback. See the gesture guide for detailed use.

Choose what shaking does
Scroll to Shake Your Phone in Customization. Set Player and Grid separately, select an action and return. Each context remembers its own choice; choose None to disable it. The player offers motion playback, screen rotation, fit, mirror, BGM, playback-mode switching and the next group. The grid offers refresh, grouped/flat display, direct group playback, Live and Quick Likes. Availability and effects depend on the current screen.
Tune playback and browsing
Open Settings → Playback → Swipe Mode. Default mode uses up/down for items and left/right for seeking; Grok mode uses left/right within a group and up/down between groups. Adjust Skip Duration for seek jumps. In the behavior section, Swipe Left or Right to Switch Tabs enables horizontal navigation between main tabs. In playback, tap the information island to hide it and tap the same location to restore it; this choice is remembered. It appears only when playback controls are hidden and its other display conditions are met.
Control visual feedback
In Settings → About → Behavior Diagnostics, choose List Refresh Indicator, Show NEW Badge in Grid, Keep Screen Awake in Foreground and Disable Grid Transition to suit your browsing. The transition switch is phrased as disabling the effect: turning it on removes the zoom transition. New badges and refresh indicators change feedback, not the underlying media. Keeping the screen awake can extend display-on time. Grid zoom transitions work best with first-frame covers; rebuilding existing covers is a separate action, not an automatic result of changing the transition switch.
Customize covers and subtitles
Settings → About → Toolkit → Rebuild Covers
The currently exposed cover-maintenance page rebuilds video covers from the first frame. It does not offer a general frame-position selector. Open the rebuild page to review the operation; rebuilding existing covers is separate from changing a display preference. In player subtitle settings, choose font and size. Audio subtitles offer separate original and translated font and size controls. Original, translated and bilingual display, translation services and playback enhancement are explained in their linked guides; their options depend on the current content and device.

Language, persistence and reset
Choose Settings → General → Language and select an app language or the system option. Tabs, quick buttons, double-tap and shake assignments persist; grid menus can additionally keep choices by view. Restore Defaults in Behavior Diagnostics resets refresh indication, new badges, spacing, corners, automatic bar hiding, grid zoom transition, main-tab swiping and screen-awake preferences. It does not reset all app data, tabs, shortcut assignments, language or media. To undo those assignments, reopen their individual selectors. Privacy and access settings have their own guide.
Protect Access to Your Library
Two setups to try
For quick collection sorting, assign a frequently used playlist to a tab, place useful collection actions in the player row, and set a double-tap quarter to a sorting destination. Check the result on a demo item before using it on your collection. For immersive browsing, hide grid information, enable automatic bar hiding, hide the information island and leave unused shortcuts as None. These are example combinations you set manually, not built-in presets. Reopen each selector to change them; the behavior reset restores only the settings described above.
